Ariz. - Bridge at Cameron

The Kansas City Midland Bridge Company constructed the first Cameron Bridge over the Little Colorado River in 1911. Because the original bridge could not support the weight of modern automobiles, Arizona Senator Carl Trumbull Hayden (1877-1972) designated almost one million dollars to facilitate the construction of a new bridge in 1958. Automobile travelers began crossing the new Cameron Truss Bridge, pictured on the left side of the image, the following year. | Source:
