Portions of the Kokopelli’s Trail near Loma, CO, trace the north fork of the Old Spanish National Historic Trail, a series of 18th and 19th century Spanish and Mexican trade routes. While remnants of the trail are not presently marked along Kokopelli’s, a development strategy initiated by the National Park Service under the National Trails System Act hopes to install trail indicators and information boards to recognize the lesser-known legacy of travel across the remote land. | Source:
