A Duncan Hines promotional postcard of the Monterey Motel (circa 1937 to 1970) taken from across Route 66

This photograph highlights the city’s growth around the motel over the years. None of the trees or empty lots in the back of postcard are there anymore and the building is now surrounded by hotels, streetlamps, car-washes and restaurants. The googie styling remained but the land around the Monterey is now the urban heart of Albuquerque. | Source:
