The Flathead-Huckleberry Fire in 1967

The Flathead Fire started near the entrance to West Glacier between Apgar Mountain and Huckleberry Mountain. Bulldozers dug out the line of cleared ground at the base of the hill to create a “fire line” and prevent plant life from fueling the blaze. | Source:
