When Jimbo Farley and Morgan Bell opened Kokopelli Bike and Board in 1994, Cortez, CO, had yet to be served by a bike shop. The business functioned as a community gathering center where cyclists could share their ideas and adventures. The social space provided by the shop heavily impacted the development of Phil’s World and according to current co-owner Pete Eschallier continues to be a meeting space for core locals who have built most of the mountain bike trails around Cortez. | Source:
