Museum Fire Aftermath.

The Museum Fire of 2019 profoundly altered the landscape on Mount Elden and the Dry Lake Hills. While very few sanctioned trails in the MEDL network were damaged during the fire, several unauthorized routes that were heavily trafficked by mountain bikers were completely lost in the blaze and subsequent erosion from monsoon rains. Long a recreational hub for Flagstaff locals, advocacy groups worked tirelessly with the forest service to restore access to the mountains and develop a modern, sustainable trail network for all recreationists. | Source:
