Art Greene and his commercial river craft, the Tseh Na-ni-ah go Atin (Diné for “trail to the rock that goes over”, in reference to Rainbow Bridge), ca. 1949-1956

The photographer, Josef Muench, was a personal friend of Greene and described him as a “former cowboy and Indian trader turned riverman”. Greene ran upriver trips through the now-submerged Glen Canyon to Rainbow Bridge before transferring much of the family’s business to Lake Powell during the 1960s. | Source:
