Belknap House, facing John Street

Exterior photo taken for National Register registration in 1997, facing John Street. Belknap’s 1890s expansion is noticeable here, particularly with the transition from the mansard to the gable roof, with its lower profile and simpler character. Notice how Belknap also duplicated the bracketed porch on the original front, making it seem like the addition was original to the structure. | Creator: National Register of Historic Places | Source: “97001302-2.” National Register of Historic Places, July 2, 1997.
