Ida Udall in the news

This clipping is from the St. Johns Herald, which in the 1880s Latter-day Saints had regarded as a vehemently anti-Mormon publication. But by the turn of the twentieth century, the Udalls who were once targets of scorn were now considered members of the Apache County community. This clipping reports on a Pioneer Day celebration and notes Ida Udall’s performance of the song “The Pioneer and His Wife”—to some extent describing herself precisely. | Source: “Grand Celebration of the Pioneer Day.” St. Johns Herald, July 27, 1901.
